First and foremost, thank you for coming to my site! Your support for my run and the cause I am raising money for means very much to me.

(me, taking a short break from training!)

For those visiting for the first time, I'll explain briefly my motivation for creating this website. Years ago, I saw a group of people in an airport wearing Team In Training tee-shirts en route to their race destination. I chatted with them briefly about their training and their cause, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. They were so passionate and excited to run, and they were bursting with pride over raising thousands of dollars for their honorees. I congratulated the group, wished them luck, and didn't think much more about them until years later....

On May 19th, 1999, my uncle Al was diagnosed with lymphoma, a cancer of the blood. Shortly thereafter, I witnessed a virile, energetic man weaken at the hands of this disease. Despite his illness, he kept his spirits high during the rigorous treatment. On November 1st, with help from above and the miracle of modern medicine, my uncle's cancer went into remission. He told me that if funding wasn't available to support the research that developed his treatment, he would not have survived. This comment made me think of Team In Training once again, but this time I decided to do more than just think.

I'm training to run a marathon with Team In Training, and I'm running in honor of my uncle Al and all others affected by these diseases. And I'm running for a cure -- so that Team In Training will exist in the future only as test of athletic ability.

My goal of completing this marathon will be accomplished with two things: training and fundraising. 26.2 miles and $3,300 is what I need to get to the finish line, and with your support I WILL SUCCEED!

Please view the rest of my site, which will be updated often to reflect my progress in attaining my goal. For more information about Team in Training, check out their website.

Once more, on behalf of myself, my uncle, and all those fighting a battle against these diseases, Thank you.
